Maternity Grant Scheme

2. Since when is the scheme being implemented: From 1 May 1995
3. Scope of the scheme: This scheme will be implemented in the entire tribal sub-plan area of Maharashtra State, including additional tribal sub-plan area, Mada area.
4. Beneficiary selection criteria / rules / conditions:
   1. The beneficiary should be from a village under the Nav Sanjivani scheme.
   2. The said mother should be from the tribal (ST) category.
   3. The said mother should have two living children and be currently pregnant with the third child.
   4. Must be in a maternity hospital.
5. Nature of the scheme: The component schemes included in the Nav Sanjivani scheme are as follows:
   1. Providing primary health care.
   2. Nutritional subject program.
6. Nature of benefit: A total of Rs. 800/- in cash and Rs. 400/- in medicine is distributed to the pregnant mother within 7 days after delivery in the institution.
