    Agriculture Department

    India is an agricultural country. This district is located in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. From the point of view of agricultural meteorology, Vidarbha is divided into four parts according to rainfall. Definite rainfall region, moderate rainfall region, moderate to heavy rainfall region, heavy rainfall region. In this, the entire Akola district falls under the definite rainfall region. This department in the Zilla Parishad should increase the agricultural income of farmers in rural areas. With this in mind, various schemes of the Agriculture Department are implemented. In this, farmers are guided through the Agriculture Officer and Extension Officer regarding the use of modern agricultural technology. And agricultural schemes are implemented through the government as well as through the Z.P.

    Schemes implemented through District Rural Development Agency office mainly include Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission Scheme (WSHG), Rural Housing Schemes. The work of implementing welfare schemes for families below the poverty line in the district is done through this office. The District Rural Development Agency office works to alleviate the poverty of the families below the poverty line in the rural areas and raise their standard of living.

    Under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin from 2016-17 to 2023-24, a total of 46440 households have been received and 100% beneficiaries have been approved, out of which 43855 households have been completed. The aim is to complete the remaining 2585 incomplete households. Also, the remaining 29065 beneficiaries under Awaas Plus Form D will be allotted houses as per the purpose received through the State Housing Office.
