Construction Department is responsible for the construction of roads and buildings within the ZP, as well as their maintenance and repair, including preparing an annual plan for government buildings and roads and taking necessary action accordingly. Mainly includes local development programs, statutory development boards, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and economic planning works. Similarly, this department takes action to implement construction-related plans from other departments within the ZP. Three sub-departments namely Akot, Balapur, Murtijapur are functioning under this department. Through this sub-department, construction of buildings and roads is implemented at the taluka level.
Works Department
The aim of this department is to provide essential services to individuals in rural regions, such as roads, schools, Anganwadi centres, and high-quality construction for the health department. This department believes that consistent upkeep, repairs, and enhancements of rural and district roads will decrease travel time and enhance access to marketing and health services for rural residents. This department is convinced that regular maintenance, repair, and improvement of rural roads and other district roads will minimize travel time and offer better marketing and health-related services to the people in rural areas.
The primary goal of this department is to maintain rural and district roads in optimal condition. In addition to this, the department aims to build facilities at B and C class pilgrimage locations in rural regions. Furthermore, this department is dedicated to constructing schools, anganwadi centers, health facilities, and veterinary services that are sanctioned by the parent department.
The district planning and development committee provides the funding for the projects 3054 (improvement of rural roads), 5054 (improvement of other district highways), and the improvement of class C pilgrimage places.
